Diana Michener is a globally recognized photographer whose black-and white photographs explore subjects as varied as repurposed stills from pornographic films, disformed fetuses suspended in formaldehyde-filled jars, severed animal heads, human and animal bones from museum collections, and landscapes from around the world.

Michener graduated from Barnard College and also studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and the New School for Social Research, New York. Michener’s photographic work has been exhibited in group and solo shows in the U.S. and internationally, including a traveling retrospective at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, and the Gallery of Photography, Dublin. Her work is included in the collections of the Denver Art Museum; the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Princeton University Art Museum; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
