The work of Mexican-born artist Mauricio Guillén encompasses film, photography, text works and other constructed objects. Guillén combines personal experience with conceptual strategies to explore how images and language influence our understanding of culture and history.
Guillén’s artwork has appeared in national and international magazines, such as Matíz Gráfico del Diseño Internacional, Reflex, Neo2, and Etapes Graphiques, among others. His work is in the collections of Albertina Museum Wien, British Arts Council of England, Fundación Jumex Mexico, FRAC Alsace France, Fomação Iberè Camargo Brazil, LACMA Los Angeles California, MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt am Main, MACBA Barcelona Spain, and the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum.
